Why use USSD

Unstructured Supplementary Service Data, or USSD, allows you to display a plain text message, typically a menu or instructions, to which customers respond. A USSD session begins when a user contacts a USSD string, for example *120*123#. 
How to use USSD
  • Customer sends request via mobile
  • USSD gateway forwards request to business USSD application
  • The application responds to the request, and repeated in reverse
  • The response goes back to the USSD gateway
  • Relevant content is then displayed on the customers mobile
